Saturday saw New England Revolution II hit the road for the first time as the club looked to bounce back after suffering its first loss of the 2026 season in its last outing.

Pablo Moreira made six changes from the lineup that suffered a 2-1 loss to reigning MLS NEXT Pro champions Red Bull New York II in their last outing. Donovan Parisian returned between the pipes behind the backline of Schinieder Mimy, Gabe Dahlin, Chris Mbaï-Assem, and Damario McIntosh. Javaun Mussenden and Allan Oyirwoth played deeper behind Makai Wells, Malcolm Fry, and Judah Siqueira. Jayden Da was the lone forward up top.

Moreira was forced to make an early change in the 28th minute as Makai Wells was unable to continue after a nasty slip on the slick turf ended his day early. Myles Morgan came on in place of the injured Wells.

A poor turnover from New England paid dividends for Crew 2 in the 43rd minute as a series of passes led Zachary Zengue to dish the ball to Kevin Gbamblé, who used Mbaï-Assem as a human shield to block Parisian’s vision as he curled a shot to the bottom-right corner and in to give Columbus the lead.

Disaster struck right out of the gate for New England in the second half as a poor turnover from Mbaï-Assem led to a pass to a darting Gbamblé, who got onto the shot on target, but deflected it off the crossbar. Former Vermont Green man Zengue got onto the loose ball and tapped it in to double Columbus’ lead.

Another change came for New England in the 53rd minute as Carlos Zambrano replaced Siqueira. Zambrano immediately dove into the action as he received a yellow card in the 55th minute following his foul on Zengue.

Morgan came up big in the 60th minute as he got under a beautifully chipped ball from McIntosh and headed the ball past Pruter and into the net to shrink Crew 2’s lead to one.

Despite the attempt, New England fell short in its 2026 road opener as the home side walked away with all three points following a 2-1 victory.

Revolution II wraps up its first road trip on May 3 when they travel down I-95 to pay regional rivals CT United FC a visit at UConn’s Morrone Stadium.
