Sunday's game between the New England Revolution and New York City FC was tied 1-1 when 17-year-old Judah Siqueira entered in the 64th minute.
The Easton, Mass. native made his MLS debut on Wednesday, coming in during the final moments of a 3-0 win over D.C. United. Four days later, he was given an extended run to help his hometown team push for three points.
"Judah just does a great job day after day in training sessions," head coach Marko Mitrovic said. "We trust Judah, we trust his talent."
A graduate of the Revolution Academy, Siqueira has amassed three goals and one assist in 23 MLS NEXT Pro appearances (12 starts).
Mitrovic recently complimented the teenager for his technical ability and "very high level" of understanding of how the Revs want to play.
On Sunday, Siqueira logged consquential minutes alongside Carles Gil and Alhassan Yusuf.
"At the end of the day, before you give those guys opportunities, you're not going to help them," Mitrovic said. "And one of the ways for them to get out and grow is, especially in games like this, you have a great opponent, it's a tough game, is to go out there and have that experience.
"We fully trust Judah and every player that is in our environment, no matter how old they are."
Siquira got on the ball quickly, showing that he has the trust of his teammates.
He later played a creative pass to fellow Academy product Peyton Miller.
“He's very calm on the ball," Miller said. "I've been watching Judah, and I played with Judah in the Academy. I'm very proud of him, and he deserves this."
While not currently signed to a first-team deal, Siqueira is viewed as a high-potential player.
"Judah has been doing well in training with us every single day," Diego Fagundez said. "I don't think [anyone] sees him as a teenager, and that's the right way to go forward.
"It's nice that he keeps getting minutes in, and little by little, he's going to learn things and get his confidence going, and you saw it today. He's up here for a reason, and now all he needs to do is keep earning minutes and do his best."
