Weather: Sunday looks to be a pleasant one in Toronto as the temperature sits at 67 at kickoff as it climbs into the low-70s throughout the afternoon.

New England Revolution II:

Let’s start with the biggest storyline entering Sunday’s Decision Day: playoff qualification.

Revolution II enter Decision Day in seventh place, the final automatic qualification spot, with 45 points on an 11-8-8 record and four shootout victories.

According to the MLS NEXT Pro clinching scenarios, New England can secure qualification with one of the following scenarios. Revs II securing one or more points against Toronto, Philadelphia Union II securing two or fewer points, CT United securing one or fewer points, an Orlando City B loss, or an Orlando City B shootout loss plus New England overcoming Orlando via tiebreakers.

While there are plenty of routes to success, New England Revolution II could still miss the playoffs completely. A loss to Toronto, two or more points for Orlando City B, and wins from CT United and Philadelphia would see Revs II and Philly tied for the final play-in spot. Depending on tiebreaker criteria, New England could end Decision Day in 10th place and out of the playoff picture.

One thing that would help tremendously is New England locking in for a full 90 minutes and seeing games out. Revs II have given up eight goals in the final 10 minutes of a match this season, which cost them a staggering 12 points. It’s something that’s plagued them recently, conceding late and dropping points in their last two outings.

On the positive side, Sunday could see goalkeeper Donovan Parisian and forward Myles Morgan make club history. With 13 goals on the year, Myles Morgan is tied alongside Liam Butts for the most goals in a single season. A crucial goal against Toronto FC II would see Morgan take sole possession of the record.

On the defensive end, first-team goalkeeper Donovan Parisian enters Decision Day with eight clean sheets, tying him with Jacob Jackson and Joe Rice for the most shutouts. A start and clean sheet against Toronto FC II would see Parisian take sole possession of the record.

Despite their recent form, Revolution II have been one of the better sides in MLS NEXT Pro this season. They enter Decision Day ranked 10th in average possession (52.0%), 10th in big chances (69), seventh in accurate long balls per match (28.6), first in accurate crosses per match (6.1), third in touches in the opposing box (774), fifth in corners (154), eighth in interceptions per match (9.9), eighth in tackles per match (18.3), and tie for eighth in clean sheets (7), eighth in shots on target per match (5.4), and sixth in set-piece goals conceded (7).

Toronto FC II:

2026 has been a tough season for Gianni Cimini and his TFC II side as the club enters Decision Day with nothing to play for but pride. Toronto sit in 12th place, already eliminated from playoff contention, with 39 points on an 11-12-4 record and two shootout victories.

While Toronto is already eliminated, it will not be easy for Pablo Moreira and Revolution II, as eight of their 11 wins this year came at home.

Looking at the stats, it's clear why Toronto has had a rough time in 2026. TFC II enter Decision Day ranking 27th in accurate crosses per match (2.9), 24th in touches in the opposing box (547), 28th in corners (105), and tie for 21st in shots on target per match (4.7), 13th in saves per match (3.3), and seventh-most penalties allowed (7).

Despite the overall rough season for Toronto, some players have carved out successful individual performances.

Jahmarie Nolan has a team-leading 10 goals plus three assists in 22 appearances.

Midfielder Fletcher Bank has been a key source of production for Toronto with his four goals and a team-leading seven assists.

Previous Meetings:

Decision Day will mark the 18th meeting between New England and Toronto. Revolution II hold the historical advantage with a 7-3-7 record and six shootout victories in the first 17 meetings.

2021 was a mixed bag for both sides, with each side securing two 1-0 shutout victories over the other. 2022 was another even year with both sides going 1-1-1 against each other.

Since then, New England Revolution II have held the advantage, going unbeaten in the last 10 outings with a 4-0-6 record and six shootout victories.

Sunday will mark the third meeting of 2026. Neither side found the back of the net on March 8. New England secured the extra point after a 7-6 shootout victory.

The most recent meeting came on June 28 when goals from Jared Smith, Myles Morgan, and Allan Oyirwoth secured a 3-1 victory.
