Ethan Kohler feels fortunate to have had strong backline partners this year.
Kohler logged minutes at right back and central midfield before settling in at center back. He originally paired with Mamadou Fofana, but Joshua Wynder stepped in when the 28-year-old got injured.
"I'm lucky to be next to both of them," Kohler said. "They both made my life a lot easier this season."
Fofana signed with the Revs in 2024 after nearly a decade of professional play in France and Türkiye. Kohler praised the Malian international for his experience.
Wynder joined the Revs in September on a year-long loan from Portuguese club SL Benfica. The 21-year-old featured in two U-20 World Cups, starting all five games in the 2025 rendition. He partnered with Kohler to help the United States secure 3-0 wins over France and Italy.
"We had a really good relationship in the [U.S. Under-20s]," Kohler said of Wynder. "He's a guy that I'm very close with off the field as well, and when you have that kind of friendship, it translates onto the field.
"I've been lucky to play with a lot of great center backs this season, and two great center back pairings more so, as in Mamadou and Josh. I think both are very talented and very good players."
