Weather: Sunday looks to be a good one north of the border, as temps hover in the mid-70s throughout the afternoon.

New England Revolution II:

Things have gone well for first-year head coach Pablo Moreira and his Revs II side as the club comes into Sunday’s contest in a four-way tie for third place in the Eastern Conference with 28 points on a 7-3-4 record with three shootout victories.

A big factor in their spot in the standings is their recent form. Prior to last week’s loss to Chicago Fire II, Revolution II went on an impressive seven-game winning streak, including five victories.

Revolution II’s ability to move the ball has been a tremendous upside for the club in 2026 as they rank fifth in accurate long balls per match (28.9) and lead the league in accurate crosses per match (5.2).

Defense has also been keen for New England as they tie for 12th in interceptions per match (9.7), and rank eighth in tackles per match (19.5) and 15th in clearances per match (19.9).

On the individual level, newcomer Myles Morgan has been a difference for this Revs II offense, leading the club in goals with five in 13 appearances.

Speaking of, Sunday will mark a homecoming for the Pickering, Ontario native, who previously played for Toronto FC II during the 2023 MLS NEXT Pro season.

Midfielder Carlos Zambrano has also been key for the Revs II offense with three goals, along with two assists in 13 appearances.

Sunday could mark the return of defender Chris Mbaï-Assem. After missing four matches with an unknown injury, Mbaï-Assem made his return to the lineup against Chicago Fire II, but was an unused substitute in the contest.

With J.D. Gunn and Donovan Parisian back in action, Pablo Moreira will have a tough decision on who to start in goal following a good spell of games from Max Weinstein in their absence.

Toronto FC II:

2026 has been a mixed bag for Gianni Cimini and his TFC II side as the club comes into Sunday’s contest in 10th place with 22 points on a 6-6-3 record with one shootout victory.

Offense for Toronto has been hit or miss. They rank 14th in accurate long balls per match (23.6), 29th in accurate crosses per match (2.6), 21st in touches in the opposition’s box (304), and 20th in corners (63). They also tie for 28th in big chances (21), 29th in big chances missed (10), and 17th in shots on target per match (4.8).

Defense has been the saving grace for Toronto as they rank second in interceptions per match (11.9), 12th in clearances per match (12.2), tie for eighth in saves per match (3.7), and lead the league in tackles per match (22.8).

Midfielder Jahmarie Nolan has been key to Toronto’s offense as he leads the club in goals with five and has an assist in his 11 appearances.

Forward Fletcher Bank has been another key factor for Toronto as he’s tallied a staggering four goals and five assists in 11 appearances.

Forward Damar Dixon is another name to watch for as he’s tallied three goals and two assists in 14 appearances.

Previous Meetings:

Sunday will mark the 17th all-time meeting between New England and Toronto. While Revs II hold the historical advantage, it’s been a pretty even series with seven of their 16 previous meetings ending in a draw.

2021 saw both sides split the season series, as each team picked up two 1-0 wins over the other. 2022 was another split season as both sides ended the year with a 1-1-1 record against each other.

After New England secured victory in their first meeting of 2023, Revs II and TFC II ended the year splitting points following back-to-back draws. Another year, another split series as 2024 saw two draws.

2025 saw New England finally break the evenness, securing wins in two of three outings. Yet again, neither side found an advantage in their first meeting of 2026 as March 8 ended in a scoreless draw. Revolution II took home the extra point following a 7-6 shootout victory.
