Sunday saw Revolution II’s hot streak continue as a late strike from youngster Judah Siqueira led New England to a 1-0 victory over Orlando City B, which extended the club’s winning streak to three and their unbeaten run to four.
Following the match, first-year head coach Pablo Moreira expressed his happiness and gratitude for his team’s ability to get the result after a busy week that saw them play three games in an eight-day span.
It was a little tougher for Moreira on Sunday as he was forced to rotate due to the sheer number of games Revs II had played throughout the week, and noted how Orlando’s freshness made the game a bit more difficult.
While there were a few mistakes here and there, Moreira praised his team’s overall effort and mentality to secure the win.
“We suffered a little bit because we were a little sloppy in the first half, but, ultimately, the second half was more of what we were trying to do," the head coach said. "It's just the fortitude to get this result, it’s massive.”
With the hectic and successful week behind them, Moreira and Revs II turn their attention to a tough task ahead in Crown Legacy, who lead MLS NEXT Pro in total goals with 30 and hold a perfect 5-0-0 record at home.
While Moreira has a ton of respect for the Eastern Conference front-runners, he knows Crown Legacy won’t be the only top team on the pitch come Friday.
Moreira and Revolution II will look to make it four wins in a row on Friday when they travel to Sportsplex at Matthews to face first-placed Crown Legacy at 7:00 PM ET!
