United States Men and Women Drawn Into Olympic Groups
The U.S. Men and Women learned who they will face in the Paris 2024 Olympic competition this summer!
The United States Men’s and Women’s Olympic teams learned who they will face during the 2024 Paris Olympic competition this summer.
Marko Mitrović and the U.S. Men’s Olympic squad drew Group A alongside France, New Zealand, and the winner of the ACF-CAF playoff. Group Stage for the men starts on July 24th, as they face host nation France inside Stade de Marseille at 3:00 PM ET. July 27th will see the U.S. Men face New Zealand inside Stade de Marseille at 1:00 PM ET before wrapping up the Group Stage against the winner of the ACF-CAF playoff inside Stade Geoffroy-Guichard at 1:00 PM ET.
Emma Hayes will make her USWNT debut as the U.S. Women drew Group B alongside Germany, Australia, and Morocco or Zambia. Group Stage for the women starts on July 25th, as they will face the winner between Morocco and Zambia inside Stade de Nice at 3:00 PM ET. July 28th will see the U.S. women face Germany inside Stade de Marseille at 3:00 PM ET before concluding the Group Stage against Australia inside Stade de Marseille on July 31st at 1:00 PM ET.
Hayes will look to add another medal to the United State’s history. Previous editions of the Olympics saw the U.S. capture gold (1996, 2004. 2008 and 2012), silver (2000), and bronze (2020) medals. Mitrović will look to capture the U.S. its first Olympic medal since Christian Brothers College won silver and St. Rose Parrish won bronze in the 1904 edition.
2024 marks the first time the men's and women's teams feature in the same Olympic tournament since the 2008 edition in Beijing.
