Klein joins Revs II full time after signing an Amateur Agreement in the offseason!
New England Revolution II youngster Eric Klein is here for the long haul as the 17-year-old inked his first professional contract with the club on Wednesday.
Klein, a Manheim, Pennsylvania native, joined the Revolution Academy in 2023 and has seen a meteoric rise ever since with the Revs U-19 squad.
After clocking eight minutes in his lone substitute appearance as an Academy product in 2023, Klein returned to Revolution II ahead of 2024 when he inked an Amateur Agreement with the club on March 13.
Since the 2024 season kick-started on March 24, Klein has gone on to be one of the most consistent presences in the Revolution II lineup, as he’s appeared in 23 matches and leads the club in minutes played 1,861. He also has one goal and three assists to his name.
While Revolution II has many young, exciting prospects, the difference with Eric is his adaptability. Throughout the 2024 season, Klein has played various roles on the backline and midfield as he spent time at the right back, center back, central defensive midfield, and central midfield positions.
Wednesday’s deal will see the young, versatile player remain with New England Revolution II through the 2026 MLS NEXT Pro season.
Klein and New England Revolution II return to action on Saturday, September 21 when they host Chattanooga FC inside Gillette Stadium at 3:00 pm ET
