Report: Revs Trade Jordan Adebayo-Smith's Rights to Minnesota
Adebayo-Smith's MLS rights are on the move following a standout debut season with Revs II.
After acquiring $100,000 in GAM in exchange for their two picks in the 2024 MLS SuperDraft, the New England Revolution-Minnesota United reportedly have made another trade.
According to Twin Cities’ Andy Greder, the Revolution are set to trade the rights to Revolution II forward Jordan Adebayo-Smith to Minnesota in exchange for $125,000 in GAM.
2023 was a phenomenal debut campaign for Adeabyo-Smith, who ended the year with 12 goals and six assists, becoming the first player in Revs II’s four-year history to notch double-digit goals in a season.
Sources tell Greder that the trade could become official pending the completion of a physical. Adebayo-Smith is reportedly traveling to Minnesota later this week to do so.
A successful day for both clubs as the Revolution walk away with $225,000 in GAM, while Minnesota acquired rights to a quality striker and two picks.
Why wouldn't we want a guy like that? We aren't exactly overloaded with strikers.
Issue with lack of international spots?
I think it is a stupid move. We are loosing a good young player. This just doesn't make sense.
