Report: Revolution Cease Negotiations for Luca Langoni
The Revolution are reportedly exploring other options in the market after failing to reach an agreement with Boca Juniors over the 22-year-old.
The New England Revolution’s pursuit of Boca Juniors winger Luca Langoni is reportedly over, according to César Luis Merlo.
Reports of the Revolution’s interest in the 22-year-old arose on July 2nd when Merlo reported the club began negotiations with the Argentine side. According to Germán GarcÃa Grova, the Revs proposed an offer of $7 million for Langoni. Grova reported Boca felt the initial offer was low and that the Revolution reportedly made a second bid in an attempt to acquire the winger.Â
It seems the two sides could not agree on a price for Langoni as Merlo broke the news Tuesday night that the Revolution was moving on, as they felt the asking price was too high. According to Merlo, the Revolution will now “look for other options in the market".
With Langoni reportedly out of the picture, the Revolution will now regroup and possibly plan for a new target ahead of the secondary transfer window's opening next Thursday, July 18th.
Even at 7 million this guy felt too expensive. That we’re moving on from an injury prone player is good news to me
