Report: European Clubs "Showing Interest" In Noel Buck
The Revolution and England U-19 midfielder is "one to watch" according to Fabrizio Romano.
Less than 24 hours after dropping news on former Rev Tajon Buchanan's future, renowned reporter Fabrizio Romano dropped some more Revs-related news Tuesday morning.
Yesterday, Romano broke the news that former Rev Tajon Buchanan, with whom the Revs have a 10% sell-on clause, was a “priority target” for Serie A giants Inter Milan.
While Revolution fans were asleep Thursday morning, Romano dropped news regarding the future of Homegrown Noel Buck. According to Romano, the Arlington native is “one to watch in 2024 as clubs are now showing interest.”
Buck has seen a meteoric rise in New England over the past few seasons. Following two strong seasons in USL League One/MLS NEXT Pro with Revs II, where he tallied six goals and one assist over 44 appearances, Buck ascended to the first team before the 2022 season to become the club's eighth Homegrown signing.
Over two seasons with the Revs, Buck’s tallied four goals and an assist over 39 appearances. Buck’s success in Major League Soccer has opened doors at the international level for the former Revs Academy product. Despite a lack of attention from the United States, Buck has managed to attract the attention of England, who’ve brought Buck to several Under-19 camps over the past year.
Since debuting for the England U19s on September 6th, Buck has appeared in six contests for England, where he’s tallied one goal over 278 minutes.
Despite Fabrizio’s recent report, we’ve known that English clubs have had their eye on Buck, as Tottenham were reportedly interested in bringing the Revs youngster over for a trial with the club. Despite the interest, nothing ever came to fruition.
While we don't know the identity of Buck's suitors, I'd expect the Revs youngster to be a hot commodity for English and other European clubs once the January transfer window opens.
Buck's potential move to Europe would be the latest in a string of outbound transfers to top European clubs. Over the years, we saw names like Tajon Buchanan (Club Brugge), Adam Buksa (RC Lens), Matt Turner (Arsenal), and Djordje Petroviċ (Chelsea) take the next step in their soccer journey.
