New England Revolution Sign Keegan Hughes
The Revs II defender ascends to the first team following an impressive preseason.
Tuesday saw the New England Revolution bolster their backline as the club announced the signing of Revolution II defender Keegan Hughes to a deal through the 2025 MLS season with options for the 2026 and 2027 seasons.
After a collegiate career at Stanford and time with the Columbus Crew organization, the 24-year-old free agent signed with Revolution II on January 3rd.
On February 10th, Hughes put up an incredible performance during the Revs II preseason slate. The defender found the back of the net twice to propel Revs II to a 2-1 win over FC Cincinnati 2.
“Keegan has worked hard to earn this opportunity and we look forward to watching him continue to mature as a player,” said sporting director Curt Onalfo.
While Hughes’ tenure in New England has been brief, head coach Caleb Porter has been impressed with the defender.
“He is a young player who has all the physical tools to develop into an MLS-level center back,” said Porter. “I look forward to working with him on the training field.".
Hughes will have the chance to make his Revolution debut on Saturday when the club hosts the Philadelphia Union at 7:30 PM ET.
