Ollie Wright is officially ruled out for the rest of the season, after Portland and himself released a statement on Instagram today confirming a right Anterior Cruciate Ligament (ACL) tear.
The non-contact injury was suffered in the 10th minute of play during Portland Hearts of Pine's away trip at Chattanooga Red Wolves. Wright went down immediately after hustling to enter a challenge for the ball near the sideline, clutching his right knee.
No injury timeline has been announced, though Wright will likely be undergoing surgery in the next few weeks.
The English winger is Portland's top goal contributor this year with six goals and seven assists on the season, and was honored as part of the USL League One All-League Second Team in 2025.
Without him, Hearts of Pine will likely look to options like summer signing Felipe Rodriguez Gentile who scored his first goal for Portland as Wright's injury replacement over the weekend, as well as fellow wide players Konstantinos Georgallidis and Walter Varela to be difference makers on the wing during the tail end of the season.
Portland currently sit 12th on 30 points in the 2026 USL League One standings. Hearts will have five more matches to make a run at the playoffs, currently sitting seven points back from the line.
