DeJuan Jones Inks Four-Year Contract Extension
The US international's extension keeps him in New England through the 2027 MLS season!
Veteran defender DeJuan Jones looks to be a part of the New England Revolution’s plans as the club announced the left back has signed a four-year contract extension through the 2027 MLS season.
Jones has been with the Revolution since the club selected him with the 11th overall pick in the 2019 MLS SuperDraft. Through five seasons in New England, Jones has appeared in 141 contests across all competitions, where he’s tallied six goals and 16 assists over 11,426 minutes.
Jones’ success with the Revs has led the Lansing, Michigan native to get looks with the United States Men’s National Team. Since debuting on January 26th, 2023, Jones has appeared in seven matches for the US, where he tallied three assists over 536 minutes.
Technical Director Curt Onalfo called Jones “ a tremendous talent, a respected teammate, and a pillar in the local community, all of which make him an important part of our team moving forward.” Onalfo added the club is “thrilled to have DeJuan in a Revolution uniform for years to come.”
After signing his contract extension, Jones said he was “delighted to announce my decision to extend my journey with the Revolution.” Jones highlights his admiration for the club and fans by saying, “This club has become my home and the bond I share with the fans, the organization, and New England is truly special.”
Jones ended his comment reflecting on the past and his intentions moving forward with the club. “I’ve given my all to this club for the past five years and I’m eager to contribute to more success as we work towards our ultimate goal of winning an MLS Cup.”
Jones and the Revolution are in the midst of preseason training as they prepare to open their 2024 campaign on February 21st against Panamanian side CA Independiente in Round One of the revamped Concacaf Champions Cup.
