Carles Gil Out for Remainder of 2024 Season
A hamstring strain will keep the former MVP out for the remainder of the 2024 season.
Revolution captain Carles Gil’s 2024 season has come to an early end.
During Thursday’s press conference with the media, head coach Caleb Porter revealed Gil had suffered a hamstring strain that will take “3-4 weeks” to recover from, which means the star midfielder will miss the remaining two games of the 2024 season.
The former MVP ends his 2024 Major League Soccer campaign with seven goals and 10 assists across 26 matches.
Thursday’s news is a tough blow for the New England Revolution, who find themselves outside of the playoff picture. Their already slim chances against fierce opposition have now become even slimmer following the news.
The Revolution will look for a crucial three points this Saturday, September 12, when they travel to Lower.com Field to take on former Revs defender DeJuan Jones and the second-placed Columbus Crew at 7:30 pm ET on Apple TV.
Tanking for that draft pick baby!
Road games that are meaningless and humiliating... yeah my hamstring would hurt pretty bad too.
