Brad Friedel Named Advisor to Beşiktaş' Board of Directors
Friedel will assist the Turkish club as they rebound from a sixth-place finish in 2023-2024.
Former New England Revolution manager Brad Friedel re-entered the professional soccer world on Friday when it was announced that the 56-year-old will join Turkish Süper Lig side Beşiktaş JK as an Advisor to the club's Board of Directors through the 2025-2026 season.
Friedel joins Beşiktaş after the club ended the 2023-2024 season in sixth place with 56 points on a 16-14-8 record.
The appointment marks Friedel’s first role within a professional soccer organization since his time in New England. After a successful playing career in Denmark, England, Turkey, the United States, and USMNT, Friedel spent time in Tottenham’s front office and began coaching the US U19s before joining the Revs on November 9th, 2017. Friedel led the Revs to a 12-22-13 record.
Friedel’s tenure in New England ended on May 9th, 2019 after starting the 2019 season with a 2-8-2 record in the lead up to his departure.
