Thursday was a momentous day for CT United as the MLS NEXT Pro expansion side reached a deal with the City of Norwich to bring the club to Dodd Stadium.
Norwich Mayor Swarnjit Singh stated his excitement over the deal following the city council's approval of a multi-year lease of the venue to the club.
“I welcome this partnership as a critical step toward reenergizing team spirit across eastern Connecticut and revitalizing tourism in our region,” he said. “This investment will breathe new life into a cherished asset and position it as a year-round destination, while supporting local businesses, creating accessible opportunities for working families, and strengthening the sense of community that defines our region.”
The MLS NEXT Pro side will be the second team to call Dodd Stadium home as they will share the venue alongside the Futures League club Norwich Sea Unicorns.
CT United FC returns to action on Sunday when they welcome regional rivals New England Revolution II to Morrone Stadium.
