Tottenham Hotspur FC of the English Premier League made a multi-million-dollar transfer bid for New England Revolution star Peyton Miller in 2025, according to Taylor Twellman in an interview with Revolution Recap.

Miller, 18, has long been a target for European clubs, with The Blazing Musket reporting last year that Tottenham made a serious inquiry.

The Connecticut native ultimately stayed with his hometown club, signing a multi-year contract extension through the 2028-29 MLS season with an additional club option for 2029-30.

“The Revs would have done it,” Twellman explained. "Tottenham was a legitimate offer, make no mistake about it: $13 million plus. When you look at a number like that – whether or not that included escalators and signing [bonuses], it doesn't matter. The European scouts flat-out told me multiple times, you're looking at $13 to $15 million. That was last season, and Peyton Miller wanted to re-sign with the Revs, and he did. Good for him.”

Miller, who played left back in 2025, has mostly featured in a more advanced role this year, scoring seven goals and adding eight assists in 29 appearances.

After making 20 appearances with the U.S. Youth National Team, including playing at the 2025 FIFA U-20 World Cup, Miller made his senior debut in September.

Miller, number 6 on MLS’ annual 22 Under 22 list, continues to draw European interest.

“I think eventually Peyton Miller is going to have something to look at and say, ‘Am I really not going to try this? Am I really going to go into the 2030 World Cup qualifying cycle and not try to make that move?'" Twellman said. “His top-end pace, his technical ability, all of that, it's a no-brainer.

"If you're New England, you do right by the player. [Revs general manager and chief soccer officer] Chris Tierney did that. He's re-signed him, but Chris Tierney's also the first person that will look Peyton Miller in the eye and say, ‘Dude, you can't keep turning down this type of money, and we can't keep turning down this type of asset.’”

Time will tell if and when Miller makes a move overseas, but it’s certainly a storyline to track.

“It wouldn't surprise me if it's the summer between 27-28 kickoff,” Twellman said. “I would say next summer becomes a very interesting time for Peyton Miller.”
