Richie Williams Believes Revs II "Did Really Well"
Hear what WIlliams had to say after Revolution II's winless streak extended to a 13th game.
New England Revolution II’s winless streak extended to a 13th game on Saturday when they secured a 1-1 draw but failed to pick up the extra point following a 5-4 shootout loss to Chattanooga FC.
While Chattanooga FC are newcomers to MLS NEXT Pro, they’re not new to the sport as they spent over a decade in several lower-level leagues, which meant Revs II went up against some extremely experienced players.
Richie Williams alluded to the gap between both sides following the result. “Obviously, the other team, their players are much older, more experienced players,” he said. They are a little more physically developed.”
Despite the obstacle, Williams applauded his side for sizing up to the challenge.
“In the beginning, it took us a little bit of time to get involved, but once we got into the game, I thought we did really well,” he said. “We got the goal back, we created a bunch of chances. We had some breakdowns defensively, but I thought we did really well with the ball. I thought a bunch of guys had good games for us.”
Williams and Revolution II will look to avoid a 14th straight game without a win and their first road win of 2024 when they hit the road on Sunday, September 29, when they square off against New York Red Bulls II at 5:00 PM.
Is he still employed to avoid some sort of lawsuit?
