Just as it looked like the health concerns surrounding the New England Revolution were alleviated with the returns of Ilay Feingold and Luca Langoni, that problem reared its ugly head on Wednesday as the club announced that forward Jack Harrison and midfielder Alhassan Yusuf will miss at least six weeks of action.
Harrison sustained a proximal quad injury while Yusuf suffered a hamstring strain in last Wednesday’s 2-1 road win over New York City FC. Yusuf exited just 19 minutes in while Harrison clocked 80 minutes.
Harrison has been a tremendous asset for New England since being acquired from Leeds United on July 25, as the Englishman has notched six assists in seven appearances. Yusuf has been a contributing force in New England’s midfield, tallying five goals and two assists in 24 appearances.
The Revs will provide further updates on the duo as they slowly work their way back from injury, but the six-week timeline given means their return could come as soon as the end of October, just before the playoffs begin.
