New England Revolution II:

Revolution II enters Sunday’s contest following back-to-back draws and back-to-back shootout victories over Toronto FC II and Huntsville City FC.

Revs II come into Sunday’s contest in second place in the Eastern Conference with 31 points on an 8-5-4 record with four shootout victories.

A big part of Revolution II’s success has come from forward Jordan Adebayo-Smith. Since arriving in the offseason, Adebayo-Smith has notched an impressive seven goals and two assists over 16 appearances with the club.

Recent success from a returning Jacob Jackson has also paid dividends as the 2022 MLS SuperDraft pick has made six appearances where he’s only conceded ten goals while notching 33 saves and two clean sheets.

Inter Miami CF II:

Like their MLS counterparts, Inter Miami II has struggled. Head coach Federico Higuaín and Inter Miami II enter Sunday’s contest in last place of the Eastern Conference with a 4-10-2 record with zero shootout wins. Miami is statistically better at DRV PNK Stadium, as they hold a 3-3-2 record at home.

Revolution II will need to keep an eye on Lucas Meek. The 24-year-old forward leads Inter Miami II’s Golden boot race with four goals. Midfielder Lawson Sunderland is another name to watch for as he trails Meeks by one with three goals on the year.

Previous Meetings:

Sunday’s meeting marks the ninth time Inter Miami and New England have met at the developmental level.

Their first meeting came on October 9th, 2020, when goals from Nick Firmino, Justin Rennicks, Ryan Spaulding, and Tiago Mendonca gave Revs II the win.

Revs II went on to win their next three games against Miami with consecutive 1-0 wins thanks to solo goals from Ryan Sierakowski, Pierre Cayet, and a Noah Allen own-goal.

Miami enacted revenge on June 4th, 2022, as goals from Tyler Bagley and Shaan Hundal led to Miami securing their first victory over Revolution II.

Despite goals from Marcos Dias and Meny Silva, a hat trick from Shayyder Borgelin and an additional goal from Benjamin Cremaschi led to Miami securing their second-consecutive win over Revs II.

Their most recent meeting came on May 28th as Pierre Cayet’s lone goal led to Revolution II picking up the shutout victory.
