The New England Revolution will be without Jack Harrison and Alhassan Yusuf for at least six weeks but the club is confident that players will step up in their absence.

Harrison sustained a proximal quad injury in New England's recent win over NYCFC. The news has put a damper on what has been a great debut for the Revs with six assists in seven games played (six starts).

Yusuf suffered a hamstring strain in the same matchup. While Harrison has stolen the spotlight as of late, the Nigerian is having an equally impressive season. Yusuf has five goals and two assists in what has been his best season in New England.

"Talking purely about [Alhassan] Yusuf and Jack [Harrison], it is unfortunate, both the way the injuries happened and the [severity of them]. They are two guys who are very important to our game," Marko Mitrovic told the media. "That's not a secret. But the most important thing for them now is to recover and approach that recovery process in the best possible way."

While the injuries have the most impact on the players themselves, it also adds some stress on Mitrovic. He has a shorter bench to work with and less options to choose from.

“Yeah, it's very hard for the team," Carles Gil said when asked by The Blazing Musket about the injuries. "They are both keys for us. [Alhassan] Yusuf, since he arrived here, he performs every game. Even this year scoring goals, he's a player that makes many things for the team. And yeah, we are going to miss him, and Jack [Harrison] too. Jack, since he arrived, he showed what type of player he is, an amazing player. We are sad, obviously, because also when we are full or almost full, we are better because we are competitive in many senses. Also on the bench, it's harder for Marko [Mitrović] to make the XI, the bench, everything, so it's difficult."

But there is an opportunity for players to step up. Recently Jackson Yueill has managed to put in solid performances including recording an assist in New England's most recent match against the Chicago Fire.

The injury to Harrison will also provide more meaningful minutes for the likes of Dániel Gazdag as well as Luca Langoni who is continuing to build fitness after dealing with a lower-body injury.

"Jackson [Yueill] is having a difficult season because when you don't play, it's difficult," Gil later said. "And the last two or three games, he did amazing. It's why everyone is important here. This type of thing can happen, and you need to be right.”

Mitrovic boasts a similar confidence in the ability for players to step up.

“On the other side, we have a very hard-working group, and we always talk about being ready to perform," Mitrovic said. "I strongly believe the guys who are now going to get more minutes because of Jack and Yusuf will use those opportunities to perform."
