Luca Langoni is having his best season in a New England Revolution uniform and his stellar performance continued against the Philadelphia Union.
Langoni kickstarted New England’s comeback with a highlight-reel caliber goal. After a corner, Langoni got back on the ball, took a few touches, and launched a thunderstrike that curled past Andre Blake and into the back of the net.

According to Sofascore, Langoni's shot had an xG of 0.01 and an xGOT (expected goals on target) of 0.41.
It was a strike that a player who is confident takes. Only someone who is in an amazing run of form would dare to try and score considering the traffic and distance the ball would have to travel.
“[It comes from] the staff, the entire coaching staff," Langoni said when asked about where he is getting his confidence from this season. "They're helping me gain a lot of confidence. That's where it comes from, so for me, I'm just focused on playing my best on the field.”
Langoni has two goals and six assists this season. He has been New England's best attacker, which is saying something considering Carles Gil is on the roster.
Even with how well he is performing, head coach Marko Mitrovic still thinks there is more to extract from the winger.
“[Langoni] had a few tries in the first half," Mitrovic said after the game. "He had a few tries in the last game [against Charlotte]. Luca actually has a very nice curved shot. You can see that in set pieces also when he delivers those balls. I still think Luca can do better and play better. That is something that we will demand from Luca more. I think he is demanding that from himself more. We are happy that he is getting numbers, but he can still do better things for us.”
After arriving in New England for a club-record transfer fee, Langoni has largely underwhelmed, but under Mitrovic, he has found his form once again. More than that, he has become a key attacking threat for the Revs.
