New England Revolution midfielder Eric Klein is on the move as the Homegrown joins USL Championship side Rhode Island FC on loan for the remainder of the 2026 season.
Klein began his tenure in New England back in 2023 after joining the club’s Academy. Klein’s work in the Revs Academy led to the prospect making his professional debut on June 12, 2023.
After appearing in 23 matches the following year, the Academy prospect ascended the Pro Player Pathway on September 18, 2024, when he signed his professional contract to join New England Revolution II.
Klein capped off 2024 by receiving recognition from the club, receiving the 2023-24 Revolution Academy Player of the Year Award for his success with the Under-19s and Revs II.
Klein’s time as an official Revs II player did not last long as he ascended the Pro Player Pathway yet again on May 23, 2025, becoming the 15th Homegrown signing in Revolution history.
The Manheim, Pennsylvania native’s time in New England has seen him notch two assists in 11 appearances across all competitions with the Revolution. He’s also tallied a goal and four assists in 46 appearances with Revolution II.
Klein joins an RIFC side that sits in sixth place in the Eastern Conference, with 25 points on a 7-6-4 record.
Rhode Island returns to action on Saturday, August 15, when it travels to Al Lang Stadium to face the Tampa Bay Rowdies.
