New England Revolution II:
Richie Williams and Revs II enter Sunday’s match licking the wounds of a 2-1 loss on Wednesday against FC Cincinnati II.
Despite Marcos Dias finding the net in the fourth minute, Revs II was unable to secure any points to start their road trip as a first-half brace from Amir Daley led to Cincinnati securing a 2-1 win and their first victory of the 2024 MLS NEXT Pro campaign. Following the 2-1 loss, Revolution II sits in 10th place in the Eastern Conference with a 1-2-0 record.
Richie Williams will be without defender Hesron Barry, who will serve a one-match suspension after receiving a straight red card in the 36th minute for headbutting Amir Daley.
New York City FC II:
2024 has started rough for Matt Pilkington and NYCFC II as they enter Sunday’s match in 13th place in the Eastern Conference with two points on a 0-2-1 record with one shootout victory.
After opening their season with a 3-2 loss against Inter Miami II, NYCFC secured their first points on March 27th as they secured a 1-1 draw followed by a 4-2 shootout victory over Huntsville SC.
It was a Hudson River Derby in NYCFC II’s most recent match as they squared off against New York Red Bulls II. Roald Mitchell’s 66th-minute penalty kick goal did NYCFC in as Red Bulls II secured a 1-0 win.
