Revolution II Ink Six Academy Prospects to Amateur Agreements
Revs II add youth to the roster ahead of the 2024 MLS NEXT Pro Season!
New England Revolution II’s 2024 roster got an influx of youth Wednesday afternoon, as the club announced Academy midfielder Cristiano Oliveira, and defenders Alex Parvu, Steban Lopera, Jamie Kabuusu, Damario McIntosh, and Eric Klein had signed amateur agreements.
The six Revolution Academy prospects trained with Revs II throughout the preseason and even clocked some minutes with the club during friendlies in Bradenton, Florida.
Amateur agreements pave the way for the six Revs Academy prospects to appear on matchday rosters for Revolution II throughout 2024 while maintaining their NCAA eligibility.
Eric Klein and Steban Lopera are no strangers to Revolution II, as the duo have one appearance each for the Revolution’s developmental club. Klein and Lopera joined Parvu and Kabuusu as members of the Revolution’s U-19 squad that won back-to-back MLS NEXT Cup titles.
Since joining the Revs Academy in 2021, Oliveira has seen success at the club and international levels, as he led the U17s with 12 goals and two assists in the fall while receiving two call-ups to the U.S. Youth National Team.
McIntosh went on to notch two goals and an assist in the fall after joining the Revs Academy in 2023.
“We’re thrilled to see this talented group of young players take this next step in our pro pathway. Our second team continues to provide a wonderful opportunity for our Academy players to earn professional experience in the early stages of their careers and we’re excited to see the continued growth of this group throughout the year.”, said Revolution Technical Director Curt Onalfo.
Revolution II kicks off their fifth campaign on the road against Philadelphia Union II on March 24th at 3:00 PM ET.
