Report: Revolution Eyeing Bordeaux Winger Alberth Elis
The Honduras international previously played with the Houston Dynamo.
According to a report from French outlet L’equipe, the New England Revolution has its eye on Honduran winger Alberth Elis.
Elis currently plays for French Ligue 2 side Bordeaux, where he’s tallied 15 goals and three assists over 54 appearances for the club.
According to L’equipe, the Revolution are not the only MLS clubs looking at the 27-year-old, as LAFC and the LA Galaxy have looked into Elis. L’equipe adds that Bordeaux is looking for €3.5 million for Elis, whose contract expires in June 2026.
This wouldn’t be Elis' first rodeo in Major League Soccer, as the winger spent time in Houston with the Dynamo. Ellis spent the 2017 MLS season on loan with the Dynamo from Liga MX side Monterey. After tallying 10 goals and four assists over 26 MLS appearances in 2017, the Dynamo completed a transfer with Monterey for Elis.
Elis appeared in an additional 62 MLS matches, where he notched 24 goals and 23 assists before departing in September 2020. Since leaving MLS, Elis has had stints with Boavista and Stade Brestois before landing in Bordeaux.
Alberth Elis has also had an impressive international career with Honduras. Since debuting in October 2014, Elis has notched 13 goals over 64 caps.
