New England Revolution Recall Ryan Spaulding From Loan
The 24-year-old rejoins the Revs after nine appearances with the Tampa Bay Rowdies!
Ryan Spaulding has returned to New England after the club recalled the defender from his loan with USL Championship side Tampa Bay Rowdies.
Spaulding joined Tampa Bay on April 21st and made his Rowdies debut on April 24th against San Diego Loyal.
While he only appeared in nine contests for the Rowdies, Spaulding made an impact during his time in Tampa Bay. The 24-year-old notched two goals and four assists over 803 minutes of action.
Spaulding’s work in Tampa earned him two USL Championship Team of the Week appearances and he was a finalist for May’s Player of the Month award.
Spaulding has already returned to New England, as he returned to training on Tuesday. With his success at LM, it will be interesting to see where Bruce Arena sees Spaulding playing now that he’s back.
Spaulding originally signed with the Revolution on February 18th, 2022, following two successful seasons with New England Revolution II. Spaulding ended his first year with 19 appearances with Revs and Revs II across all competitions, where he clocked 931 minutes.
His return comes at a good time as DeJuan Jones prepares to join the USMNT ahead of the Gold Cup while Brandon Bye slowly returns from injury. The Revolution return to action on Saturday, June 24th, as they host Toronto FC at 7:30 PM ET on MLS Season Pass.
