The New England Revolution’s Pro Player Pathway was in full effect on Sunday as 17-year-old Academy forward/winger Makai Wells signed his first professional contract with New England Revolution II through June 30, 2027.
It’s been a meteoric rise for the Washington D.C. native since joining the Revolution Academy ahead of the 2025-26 campaign. After featuring with the Under-18s, Wells made his professional debut with Revolution II on August 25, 2025, clocking five minutes off the bench in a draw and shootout loss to Chicago Fire II. Wells made another cameo off the bench on October 5, 2025, clocking 11 minutes off the bench in a 5-2 victory over Inter Miami CF II.
2026 has seen the forward/winger tally a goal in 10 appearances for Revolution II.
“We're excited to support Makai as he begins this next chapter with Revolution II and look forward to watching his continued progression throughout his professional career," Rob Becerra, director of youth development for the Revolution said.
