The New England Revolution have shown the ability to bounce back whether it be over the course of 90 minutes or over the course of a couple of weeks. Once again that resiliency will be tested.

It can be easy to forget that the Revs lost three of their first four matches before going on a run that propelled them to the top of the Eastern Conference.

During the hot stretch of form, the Revs never seemed out of a game. The club has won three games after trailing at halftime this Major League Soccer season. Prior to 2026, New England had gone two full seasons without a victory when trailing at halftime.

"We have nothing else to do other than recover and keep going next week," Revolution head coach Marko Mitrovic said. "We always have that mindset, and I know those are the times when you lose the game, and then everybody's down. But I also know that this is an amazing group. This is a group that, I promise you, every day they come, they don't negotiate their work, they give their best, and I have nothing to say to the guys. They are doing their best, and we have to find a way to help them as well.”

For newcomer Jack Harrison, the match was a great debut personally as he showed his ability, but the result left more to be desired.

While some things can be tweaked, the message from Mitrovic was to leave the loss in the rear-view mirror.

"There's definitely some parts that we can analyze and that we'll look to improve upon next week," Harrison said. "His message was just put it behind us. We got to continue focusing on ourselves, focusing on what we can improve, and take the lessons from this game and just keep on moving forward and not getting too caught up in the loss. We have a lot of belief in what we can do here as a team, and it's important to just get back on track."

This is a message that hasn't changed throughout the season. Revolution players believe they can bounce back after tough losses and can erase any deficit.

When a club is underperforming, it can be grating but for a team that is at the top of the Eastern Conference, consistent messaging is crucial. It shows that instead of riding a rollercoaster, a coach is instead moving with the tides that are a MLS season.

Matt Turner believes the consistency from Mitrovic has been crucial for New England.

"Because the messaging from the coach doesn't change whether we win or lose," Turner said when asked about New England's ability to bounce back. "That's really important. That consistency on a weekly basis is huge for us, and the reason we've been able to bounce back in large part is because of that."

Heading into the weekend matchup against Toronto, it doesn't seem like the sky is falling. There is a belief that this team can get back on track in what has been a rather successful season.

After the last two years, it is a much needed change of pace and an indicator of how much of an impact Mitrovic has made.
