CT United

2026 has not gone the way many expected and hoped for the club. After starting the campaign with two wins in their first three outings, CT has gone winless in their last six contests with a 0-5-1 record in that span, with one shootout victory.

One hindrance for this CT side is finishing the chances they create. While they tie for seventh in shots on target per match (5.7) and tie for fourth in big chances created (32), CT is tied for the most big chances missed with 26.

On the opposite side of the ball, it’s a mixed bag. While CT is second in tackles per match (22.9), ties for the fifth-fewest set-piece goals conceded, and ranks 15th in interceptions per match, the club also ranks 20th in clearances per match (18.4), ties for the third-most penalties conceded (3), ranks dead last in saves per match (1.2), and ranks third for fouls per match (15.8).

Despite the struggles as a collective, Alex Monis, Ibrahim Kasule, and Laurie Goddard have had decent individual performances, as the trio has two goals apiece. Additionally, Robbie Mora has been an offensive factor with three assists on the year.

Hopefully, Sunday’s trip down to the Garden State sees Shavar Thomas and CT United begin to turn things around.

Red Bull New York II

Dominik Wohlert’s first year at the helm of Red Bull New York II has gotten off to a good start as he and his reigning MLS NEXT Pro Cup champion side sit in second place with 23 points on a 7-1-2 record with zero shootout victories.

RBNY II will look to get back on track after suffering its first loss of the season following a 3-2 loss to rivals NYCFC II last Sunday.

Looking at the stats, it’s clear why Red Bull New York has been successful this season. They rank fourth in shots on target per match (6.1), third in accurate passes per match (449), and ninth in touches in the opposing box (261).

The thing about Red Bull New York II that makes them so dangerous is that they have a plethora of scorers. Their 24 goals on the year have come from 12 different scorers. First-teamer Roald Mitchell leads the pack with four, while Andy Rojas trails with three. Seven different players have two goals on the year, while three have one goal on the year.
