March’s international window saw defender Chris Mbaï-Assem return to the Central African Republic National Team for a training camp.
Mbaï-Assem noted the differences in style of play here in the U.S. compared to Africa.
“There’s also a difference between soccer here and soccer in Africa, as it’s a bit more physical in Africa," he told The Blazing Musket.
While on international duty, Mbaï-Assem and the national team shared numerous photos and videos of the local community showing support for the national team. It’s something Chris said was unbelievable.
After the local community showed its support for the team, they repaid that support by helping distribute food and supplies at a local pediatric hospital while taking time to visit with the patients.
This year marks Mbaï-Assem’s first full season with Revolution II. The defender clocked 115 minutes in five appearances after signing with the club on August 23, 2025. 2026 has already seen Mbaï-Assem match his 2025 appearance tally and is the only player to be on the field for all 450 minutes so far.
Mbaï-Assem credits having a full preseason under his belt as something that has tremendously helped him thus far.
Mbaï-Assem and Revolution II hit the road for the first time in 2026 on Saturday as they square off against two-time MLS NEXT Pro Cup finalists Columbus Crew 2 at 3:00 PM ET
