Vermont Green FC has remained busy as it prepares for the USL League Two and USL W season.

Starting with the USL League Two side, the club will have the opportunity to win another trophy as it will be playing in the the 2026 Hank Steinbrecher Cup, a single-elimination tournament for the champions of various U.S. men’s amateur and pre-professional leagues and competitions.

This year's version will have Vermont be joined by National Premier Soccer League (NPSL) champs Hickory FC, USASA National Amateur Cup champs West Chester United SC, and the winner of the 2026 USSSA National Champions League which is determined in May.

“It’s an honor to compete in the 2026 Steinbrecher Cup,” said Vermont Green co-founder Matthew Wolff. “For a pre-professional club like ours, it’s a bit like our own Club World Cup—champions from different competitions coming together to compete for one trophy. We’re proud to represent USL2.”

El Farolito of NPSL win the 2025 version of the tournament.

The USL W side also added a bevy of players for the club's inaugural league campaign. Neve Renwick, the first women to score for Vermont Green FC will be spending the summer in Burlington.

Renwick will also be joined by Providence College midfielder Lily Gibbs. The redshirt sophomore and Dedman Mass. native led the Friars with four goals and an assist.

Gibbs won't be the only Friar on the roster as midfielder Meg Roden will also be spending the summer in Burlington. The Australia U20 youth international started in 16 games this fall at Providence College and has professional experience back in Australia.

Sydney Segalla will also join Vermont Green FC in 2026 making her yet another Boston College Eagle playing for the Vermont side. She is a multi-sport athlete that holds multiple school records in Track & Field at Boston College. Segalla is coming off an injury but was a team captain for BC's women's soccer in 2025.

Additionally, University of Vermont graduate Lauren DeGroot rejoins the Green after a standout senior season with the Catamounts. DeGroot scored 8 goals and 3 assists in her final collegiate season.

Finally, Ashley Henderson will be looking to score some goals in the summer as she prepares for her senior season at Memphis. She started in all 21 games for the Tigers and scored 10 goals and added nine assists, one shy of the third 10+10 season in school history.
