Rhode Island FC fans saw a big departure on Friday as the club announced it had transferred star forward Albert “Chico” Dikwa to fellow USL Championship side Pittsburgh Riverhounds SC for an undisclosed fee.
Dikwa – an RIFC original, spent the last two seasons in The Ocean State – where he etched his name into the club’s record book. Chico departs as the club’s co-leader in all-time goals with 19 and ranks second in all-time assists with nine.
The striker returns for his second stint in Pittsburgh on the heels of the Riverhounds’ 2025 USL Championship title victory. The Cameroonian spent four seasons in Pittsburgh, tallying 37 goals and seven assists in 90 appearances across all competitions.
Dikwa will return to Rhode Island when the Pittsburgh Riverhounds pay a visit to Centerville Bank Stadium on October 17th in Rhode Island’s regular season home finale.
