Sources close to Tom Bogert of The Athletic claim the New England Revolution are set to receive an additional $2 million from Premier League side Chelsea after goalkeeper Djordje Petroviċ achieved performance-based add-ons included in his initial move to the English side.

The New England Revolution set the record for the highest outbound transfer fee for an MLS goalkeeper on August 21st, 2023, when the club reportedly received $17.5 million from Chelsea for the Serbian netminder.

Since joining Chelsea, Petroviċ has appeared in 30 matches across all competitions, where he notched seven clean sheets. Chelsea enters the final matchday of the Premier League season in sixth place with 60 points on a 17-11-9 record and will look to squeeze their way into the top five on Sunday when they face Bournemouth.

With an additional $2 million, the Revolution’s total return for the Serbian keeper tallies up to just under $20 million.
