Opponent: Red Bull New York II

Date: Sunday, April 12th

TIme: 7:00 PM ET

Venue: Beirne Stadium, Smithfield, Rhode Island

Broadcast: OneFootball TV and MLS YouTube Channel

Weather: Expect some brief showers to roll into Smithfield ahead of kickoff, but it should be a nice evening otherwise as temps hover in the low 60s throughout the evening.

New England Revolution II:

2026 has gotten off to a near-perfect start for first-year head coach Pablo Moreira and his Revs II side as the club enters Sunday’s contest in second place, with the opportunity to move up to first, with 10 points on a 2-0-2 record with two shootout victories.

Revolution II’s work on both sides of the ball has been a key factor in their early-season success. The club comes into Sunday’s match third in average possession (56.8%), tied for fourth in clean sheets (two), eighth in accurate passes per match (418.0), ninth in accurate long balls per match (25.3), first in accurate crosses per match (6.5), second in touches in the opposition’s box (128), and tie for seventh in tackles per match (20.5), fifth in clearances per match (24.0).

Sunday could see the Revs match club history as they look to extend their unbeaten run to five games to start the 2026 season. A win or draw would see Revolution II tie the all-time club record for longest unbeaten streak to start a season. 2022 saw the club begin its inaugural MLS NEXT Pro campaign with three wins and two draws in its opening five contests.

Sunday’s match could see two debuts for the club. Since their last outing, Revolution II has added defender Jared Smith and forward/winger Shuma Sasaki.

Red Bull New York II:

2026 has gotten off to a strong start for Dominik Wohlert and his RBNY II side, coming into Sunday’s rescheduled contest behind New England in fourth place with eight points on a 2-0-2 record with zero shootout victories.

A significant factor in RBNY II’s early-season success has been its effectiveness with the ball. Despite tying for 20th in shots on target per match with 4.3, they tie for sixth in goals per match with 2.3.

Despite ranking toward the bottom in defensive stats like clean sheets, interceptions per match, clearances per match, and saves per match, they’ve gotten incredibly lucky as they tie for fifth in goals conceded per match with 1.0.

Rafael Mosquera and Rolad Mitchell are two names Revs II will have to keep an eye on as the pair lead RBNY II in goals with two apiece and one assist each.

Previous Meetings:

Sunday will mark the ninth all-time meeting between New England and New York. Red Bull II holds the slight advantage with a 4-3-1 record over Revs II.

Revs II went winless in the first two meetings, suffering a 1-0 and 4-1 losses to begin 2023. August 6, 2023, marked the first positive result for New England as Jordan Adebayo-Smith’s 62nd-minute strike led to a 1-1 draw at the end of regulation. Red Bull went on to pick up the additional point following a 4-3 shootout victory.

The most historic meeting took place on October 6, 2023, as both sides met in the 2023 Eastern Conference Semifinals. Goals from Malcolm Fry in the 12th minute and Victor Souza in the 67th led to New England advancing following a 2-1 victory.

The lone meeting of 2024 didn’t go to plan for New England as New York secured a 3-1 victory. Red Bull New York II secured another dominant victory on May 18, 2025, as they handed Revolution II a 4-1 defeat.

Revolution II got revenge in the most recent meeting on August 15th, 2025, as strikes from Liam Butts, Gevork Diarbian, and a brace from Marcos Dias led New England to a 4-2 victory.
