The New England Revolution are reportedly set to bulk up at the defender position as Sounder At Heart’s Niko Moreno reports the Seattle Sounders are set to send 22-year-old Homegrown Cody Baker to the Revolution.
The Issaquah, Washington native began his career in the Sounders Academy before inking his first professional deal to join the organization’s MLS NEXT Pro side, Tacoma Defiance, on July 21, 2021. Baker went on to clock 753 minutes in 18 appearances in 2021.
2022 saw Baker have a breakout season with Tacoma as he notched a goal and an assist in 19 appearances and logged over 1,500 minutes in regular-season and playoff competition.
Baker’s career took a big leap on May 16, 2023, when he became the 22nd Homegrown signing in Seattle Sounders history.
Cody Baker’s time with the Sounders has seen the right back tally two assists and clock 1,690 minutes in 37 appearances across all competitions. Baker also made one appearance during Seattle’s run to become the first MLS club to win the Concacaf Champions Cup in 2025.
Baker’s time with Seattle also saw him go out on loan to USL Championship side Sacramento Republic FC, where he clocked 314 minutes in seven appearances for the club in the second half of 2025.
2026 has seen Baker tally a goal in six appearances for Tacoma while clocking 99 minutes in four appearances for the Sounders across all competitions.
Exact details on the move remain unclear as of now.
