Fox Sports Doug McIntyre dropped big news on the future of Bruce Arena on Wednesday as multiple sources close to the reporter claim the former Revolution head Coach and sporting director was reinstated by MLS Commissioner Don Garber.

The winningest coach in league history was abruptly placed on administrative leave following “insensitive and inappropriate remarks” on August 1st. Following a lengthy investigation, Arena's tenure with the New England Revolution came on September 10th, as he submitted his resignation.

Following the investigation, it was revealed that Arena would have to petition the league if he wanted to return. According to WPRO’s Tom Quinlan, Arena met with MLS Commissioner Don Garber on Monday and now has a path to return to return to Major League Soccer.

Thanks to reporting from The Athletic, we know Arena is looking to return to MLS as he expressed interest in the open Charlotte FC and D.C. United positions. While Charlotte went a different direction by appointing Dean Smith, Quinlan reports Arena is a finalist for the D.C. United position.
