Sunday was another successful day at the office for Head Coach Pablo Moreira and his Revolution II as they secured a 2-1 victory over the reigning MLS NEXT Pro Cup champions, Red Bull New York II.

When asked what’s led to this incredible run of form, Moreira had nothing but praise for his players and staff.

"First and foremost, we have a very good Director of Performance in Bilal (Bejaoui). So, in terms of the physical end, I give him all the credit in the world," Moreira told The Blazing Musket. "He obviously has vast experience; he was with PSG a few months ago. It’s just great to have him around, and just the mentality of the guys. No matter what happens, we’re ready for it.”

Over the course of this season, we’ve seen the camaraderie of this Revs II side shine brightly as Pablo Moreira and players like Jayden Da, Damario McIntosh, and others downplay their own individual achievements, like goals or awards, and emphasize how those achievements help the team overall.

When asked about the camaraderie of his squad, Moreira applauded his players for who they are as individuals outside of soccer.

“I think it’s just the DNA of our guys," the head coach said. "We have high-character individuals in that locker room. I don’t think that culture is just thrown out there. I think we have to work at it through preseason and the regular season. We’ve really tried to get to know one another deeper than a soccer level. When you know people at that level, they’re your brothers, and you want to fight for them even more. I think these guys being tight-knit and having high-character individuals is a testament to our camaraderie.”

Success as a whole for Revs II has led to several players receiving international call-ups throughout the season. While incredibly happy to see his guys perform at the international level, Moreira simultaneously praised their demeanor afterwards.

“When you see the guys who come back from international duty, they don’t see it as a step down," he said. "We had a lot of guys come back, and you see them become main contributors today. It speaks to how humble they are, and in terms of performance, to be able to represent the club and country is the highest honor in football.”

Moreira and Revolution II will look to extend their unbeaten run to eight games when they welcome Chicago Fire II to Bryant University’s Beirne Stadium at 11 AM.
