Sunday saw New England Revolution II extend its unbeaten run to start the 2026 season to four as goals from Jayden Da and Malcolm Fry led the club to a 2-0 victory over regional rivals CT United FC.

Despite the scoreline, Head Coach Pablo Moreira emphasized how much of a battle it was and gave credit to his opposition.

“Credit to Connecticut," Moreira said. "I thought it was a tough game, unlike the 3 that we've played. I feel like in those 3 games, we had a lion's share of control and possession, where this one was a little more of a dog fight.”

On top of a tough CT United FC side, Moreira and Revolution II also battled against the weather as heavy rain poured down at Beirne Stadium. While many would fold in these types of conditions, Moreira told The Blazing Musket the conditions gave his side an advantage.

“I think that helped in terms of just the speed of play," he said. "I know the field was a little slick and wet, but for us, we like that. It allows us to play a little quicker. Super happy that we're able to play through these conditions and a team like that and get a result.”

Moreira and Revolution II will look to build on their early-season success on April 12 when they host Red Bull New York II as both sides look to take the top spot in the Eastern Conference.
