Vermont Green Forward Signs With Colorado Rapids 2
The USOC hero is headed out West
After a 2024 that saw him win a U.S. Open Cup match with Vermont Green FC and a national championship with the Catamounts, Syndey Wathuta is headed out West to begin his professional career.
After being drafted by the Colorado Rapids in the 2025 MLS SuperDraft, Wathuta inked a one-year deal with Colorado Rapids 2 of MLS NEXT Pro.
Over his two seasons with the Catamounts, the forward made 39 appearances (34 starts) racking up three goals and fifteen assists. His most successful campaign was this past year as he scored all of his three career goals and added 14 assists, a new Vermont single-season record.
Colorado has seemingly taken a liking to Green players as defender Nate Jones also was acquired by the club via a trade in the MLS SuperDraft. Jones is currently out on loan to the Las Vegas Lights for the 2025 season.
