Vermont Green FC boosted its back line as the club has signed defender Sjur Drechsler.

The Norwegian is coming off a Division II National Player of the Year season with Florida Tech in 2023. He scored four goals and two assists.
Prior to coming to the United States, Drechsler played for Vidar, a Norwegian club currently in the fourth tier of the Norway soccer pyramid.
Vermont also announced that they will be hosting Ligue1 Québec champions and 2024 Canadian Championship qualifiers CS Saint-Laurent in the Maple Cup.
"Since the very start of Vermont Green FC, the soccer communities of Quebec have been incredible friends to our young club.” said Vermont Green FC co-founder Patrick Infurna. “From organized fans supporting us in the stands, to Ligue1 Quebec clubs making the trip down to play us, to media coverage and more, the bond of football between Vermont and Quebec has been wonderful and organic. The Maple Cup is designed to celebrate that bond and show gratitude for a friendship we value so strongly.”
The match will take place at Virtue Field on July 3rd, 2024 at 6 pm.
