Mauricio Pochettino has named his first January Camp roster for the United States Men’s National Team, and as usual, Major League Soccer represents a large chunk of the player pool.
Last season DeJuan Jones was representing the New England Revolution at camp but now the outside back will be representing the Columbus Crew at camp. While Jones hasn’t had as prominent of a role in Columbus, he is still a player that the USMNT wants to keep an eye on.
Patrick Agyemang, Max Arfsten, George Campbell, Emeka Eneli, Brian Gutiérrez, Matko Miljevic, and Indiana Vassilev make up a group of players who earned their first national team call-ups. Agyemang notably spent some time with USL League Two club Western Mass Pioneers while in college.
The roster is filled with experience including Tim Ream who has captained all four games for the USMNT since Poch has taken over. He is joined by fellow veterans Walker Zimmerman, Miles Robinson, Zack Steffen, Jesús Ferreira, and Shaq Moore. Robinson notably rose through the Boston Bolts academy.
