Rumor: Revs Bid For Vladimir Lučić Rejected
The Revs search for a winger has hit a temporary roadblock.
According to MaxBet Sport’s Mirko Marković, the Revolution’s search for a winger hit a roadblock as they had a bid for 21-year-old Serbian winger Vladimir Lučić rejected.
Marković reports that a bid of “over two million Euros” was rejected by Super Liga Srbije side Red Star Belgrade. Marković adds the club values Lučić more than the bid the Revolution submitted.
With Dylan Borrero still recovering from a torn left ACL, the Revs appear to be looking to find a temporary replacement for the Columbian, who could return in late spring or the summer.
Lučić has appeared in 28 matches across all competitions, where he tallied two goals and five assists over 1,470 minutes. Before joining Red Star, Lučić had previous stints with IMT Belgrade and FK Cukaricki. Revs fans may remember Cukaricki as it was the club Djordje Petrović played for before coming to New England.
If the Revolution are keen on adding another winger and are high on Lučić, expect them to submit another bid before preseason kicks off on January 13th.
