Tidewater Landing Riverwalk Receives Grant
Rhode Island FC is in the news this week with the Providence Business Journal reporting that the soccer stadium project has secured a grant from the Rhode Island Infrastructure Bank.
The bank on Monday announced a whole host of grants to infrastructure projects in the Ocean State including $350,000 to Pawtucket for the river walk that is a part of the Tidewater Landing stadium development.
Per the report the grant will assist in paying for the design, permitting, and construction of the river walk. The river walk is a public walkway on the Pawtucket River and a pedestrian bridge will be built to connect both sides of the river.
The Tidewater Landing stadium’s groundbreaking took place last August as the project continues to track towards its opening in 2024 for the USL Championship season. The team itself is continuing to build out its staff and has opened a headquarters across from Slater Mill in downtown Pawtucket.
Fans can expect to see plenty of announcements on the sporting side of things as we inch closer to the 2024 launch of RIFC.
