Three More Players Receive International Call-Ups
The total number of players representing the Revolution during November's window increases to seven.
Three more members from the New England Revolution organization are headed to the international stage to represent their respective national teams.
Revolution defender Peyton Miller received a pretty good birthday gift from U.S. Soccer on Friday as Miller received a call-up to the United States Under-20 squad for its November training camp and friendlies against Korea Republic and France.
After missing a good chunk of the first half of 2024 due to a foot injury, Miller made his Revolution debut on July 18th. Miller got an influx of playing time following DeJuan Jones’ trade to the Columbus Crew on July 31st. Miller ended his debut campaign with 13 appearances across MLS and Leagues Cup action where he tallied two assists in 925 minutes.
It’s not surprising to see Colby Quiñones called back up to the Puerto Rican National Team but seeing the current free agent’s call-up featured in Revolution II’s Instagram post highlighting recent call-ups was. I have no inside information on the matter, but seeing Quiñones’ inclusion does spark hope that the Revs II original may be set for a return to the club.
Quiñones joins Puerto Rico for two Concacaf Nations League matches against Aruba and Haiti.
After making five appearances with the nation’s U-20 squad, Quiñones made his senior debut on June 10th, 2022. Since then, he’s appeared in nine matches and clocked 748 minutes.
Quiñones and Puerto Rico open the November window on the 14th when they host Aruba at 9:00 PM ET before closing the window on the road against Haiti on the 18th at 9:00 PM ET.
Finally, Revs Academy forward Jonathan Cante was named to the Guatemala U-17 squad.
With Friday night’s announcement, the total of Revolution representatives on the international stage has grown to a whopping seven players.
Hope it is indication Colby will be returning to the club.
