TBM Roundtable: Grading the Revolution Trade For Brooklyn Raines

New England's first major move was to add a talented USYNT player via a U22 Initiative deal, so what does the staff think about this move?

The New England Revolution have made official the trade and signing of midfielder Brooklyn Raines from the Houston Dynamo.

As reported last week via insider Tom Bogert, the Revs are sending $1.6 million in allocation to Houston with the potential of $400K more with the Dynamo retaining a sell on fee depending on sale price. My guess is Houston would only get a percentage of the profits New England would make after the Revs recoup the initial $1.6-2M in cash, which is fine.

So now we have a lot of things going on: a very crowded Revs central midfield, a new coach bringing in a player he’s very familiar with from the YNT ranks, and an amount of money similar to what the Revs got Leo Campana for involved for the second straight offseason.

What does the staff thing of all of this? Let’s dive into another grading roundtable.
