Sources: Revs To Sign Tomáš Vaclík As Djordje Petrovic Replacement
Tomáš Vaclík last played for Championship club Huddersfield Town.
The New England Revolution are set to sign Tomáš Vaclík as a replacement for Djordje Petrovic, sources tell The Blazing Musket.
Vaclík, 34, is currently a free agent after his contract with Huddersfield Town expired in the summer. The goalkeeper also spent time with several European clubs, including Olympiacos, Sevilla, and Basel. He has 54 caps with the Czech Republic National Team.
The Vaclík news was later confirmed by Tom Bogert of The Athletic.
The deal comes in response to the Revs selling Petrovic to Chelsea for €16million (£13.6m, $17.4m) plus €2m in add-ons, according to Bogert.
Below is a highlight reel for Vaclík created by KeeperClips on Twitter.
He looks like he great with his hands but when was this video made. Hope he works out for the Revs. No matter who you put between the pipes will not replace Petrovic, he was a one of a kind.
I’m hoping that if this is a done deal then it’s just a short term move - it’s time we start seeing more of Johnson.
