Revolution Shine Bright on International Stage

November’s international window was busy for the Revolution as nine members from the first team, second team, and Academy represented their respective nations.
Esmir Bajraktarević returned to the Bosnia & Herzegovina National Team for two UEFA Nations League matches against Germany and the Netherlands.
November 16th’s meeting saw Bajraktarević start on the bench before entering in the 63rd minute. Bajraktarević completed two of three passes, won one duel, and got seven touches on the ball as Bosnia suffered a crushing 7-0 loss to Germany.
Bajraktarević again started on the bench in their match against the Netherlands on November 19. The Revolution Homegrown ended the game, completing one of two passes, performing one defensive action, and getting four touches after entering in the 63rd minute as Bosnia secured a 1-1 draw.
Alhassan Yusuf returned to the Nigerian National Team for a pair of AFCON qualifiers against Benin and Rwanda. Yusuf was an unused substitute during November 14th’s 1-1 draw against Benin.
November 18 saw Yusuf get the start against Rwanda. Yusuf completed 23 of 24 passes, won two tackles, completed four defensive actions, and won eight duels in his 45 minutes before subbing out before the second half. Despite getting on the board in the 59th minute, two late goals from Rwanda led to a major upset and defeat for Nigeria.
Xavier Arreaga was an unused substitute in both of Ecuador’s World Cup qualifying matches that saw the nation secure a 4-0 win over Bolivia and a 1-0 win over Colombia.
Peyton Miller joined the United States U-20s for two matches against Korea Republic and France. Despite being a substitute during November 16th’s meeting with South Korea, Miller flashed his offensive prowess by netting a goal in the 3-0 victory. After finding the net in the opener, Miller started on November 18 as the United States secured a 2-1 victory over France.
Cristiano Oliveira spent the week training with the United States U-17s in Florida as the nation prepares for Concacaf U-17 qualifiers in February. JD Gunn was an unused substitute in Panama’s two Concacaf Nations League quarterfinal matches against Costa Rica. After securing a 1-0 shutout in the opener, Panama secured a 2-2 draw in Leg Two to secure a 3-2 win on aggregate. Panama will face the United States in the Nations League semifinal on March 20.
Colby Quiñones returned to the Puerto Rico National Team for two Concacaf Nations League B matches against Aruba and Haiti. Quiñones got the start against Aruba on November 15. He ended the night completing 14 of 19 passes, cleared the ball four times, and completed five defensive actions over 60 minutes in Puerto Rico’s dominant 5-1 win.
November 18 saw Quiñones on the bench. By the time Quiñones entered in the 78th minute, Puerto Rico was trailing. The defender ended the match with four passes, one block, and five touches as Puerto Rico suffered a 3-0 defeat.
Alex Monis joined the Philippines for a friendly against Hong Kong. Monis was a substitute for November 14th’s match and entered at halftime. Monis went on to see yellow in the 86th minute as the Philippines suffered a 3-1 defeat.
Jonathan Cante spent the week with the Guatemala U-17s, where the nation secured a 1-0 win against the Saprissa U-17s, a 5-0 loss to Mexico, and a scoreless draw against Costa Rica.
