According to The Blazing Musket’s Seth Macomber, 2023 MLS SuperDraft selection Andreas Ueland and the New England Revolution have parted ways.
The New England Revolution have parted ways with Andreas Ueland. The University of Virginia defender was selected in the third round of the 2023 MLS SuperDraft (68th overall).
Ueland was coming off an impressive end to his collegiate career at Virginia.The 23-year-old was named 2022 ACC Defensive Player of the Year and was also named to the All-ACC First Team.
The 2022 co-captain started in all 73 games he played in as a Cavalier. He tallied eight goals and three assists.
My guess is that he was likely going to end up on Revs 2, but got a better offer to play in Norway
I guess that speaks to why someone projected as a top 15-20 pick fell to the third round, high flight risk.
